Canadian Northern Geese

!±8± Canadian Northern Geese

In northern Canada, temperatures in winter, minus 40 degrees below zero, the sign on the lives of very isolated and frozen, they can draw. Inhabitants of these regions have long cold winters and learned how to make their families comfortable and warm during the night, when temperatures can creep even to survive, even lower. Part of their survival strategy is to know how to goose-down spring harvest and use it in their bed as a heat insulator and suppliers. Not surprisingly, goose down has become astaple bedding item wherever cold temperatures exist.

The Canadian White Goose or Legarth Geese (Anser Anser Domesticus), as they are also known, grazed acres of this cold region of Canada for many long years. In spite of the coldness, or maybe because of it, this region is one of the cleanest, freshest environments in the world where wildlife and nature flourish. Today however, Canadian geese no longer roam wildly in the region, but instead are purposefully raised and hand-fed natural wheat and barley producing a larger and stronger domestic goose than any other domestic goose in the world. In addition, these geese have a breast size up to two times wider than other geese giving them a stronger, longer-lasting goose-down layer. It is here where down-filled comforters and beddings are manufactured. Today these comforters are holding world-class status in the bedding industry.

Canadian down-filled comforters are manufactured with the strictest of guidelines and specifications. First of all, the feather-down is carefully picked and measured for its fill-power - the measurement of an ounce of compressed goose-down and how much space it will occupy once it has expanded (loft). It is the space in-between the tufts of down that holds and maintains body heat. Therefore, with high fill-power feather-down, less down is needed to create the same effect. A basic down-comforter's maximum loft and fill-power is 700 or higher, creating the ultimate insulating barrier between your body and outside temperatures. In short you get a lighter and fluffier comforter with less weight.

Next, the right fabrics and thread-counts are chosen to make-up the comforter itself. Canadian manufacturers use 100% cotton sateen outer shell with a thread-count of 356 (the number of stitches in a square inch of fabric). Luxury silk comforters are also offered with a thread-count of 550. Once the fabric has been chosen, the comforter style is selected. A very popular and efficient style used for these comforters is the baffle-box finish. The baffle-box is a three dimensional box with baffle walls inside the stitched boxes. Each box holds an exact amount of feather-down material. The space in the box itself allows the goose-down to expand to its highest loft while at the same time the down stays in place without shifting to other parts of the comforter. Because the feathers do not shift, heat from the down is properly distributed producing a steady even temperature that is maintained for the entire night. With this construction, there are no hot or cold spots.

Finally, each piece of bedding is carefully washed and then placed into an area where special drying techniques are used to sanitize and sterilize the product. Every down product is then tested before it is packaged and before it is sold to the public. The customer is guaranteed an all natural, organic, hypoallergenic product that provides a sound, restful sleep time and time again. In addition, each product comes with a full three-month money back guarantee.

These wonderful down-beddings can be found world-wide in many grand hotels and fine exclusive resorts. Today these beautiful comforters are available to all who enjoy luxury and a great night's sleep. The down from these Canadian-geese-comforters will provide warmth that will last a lifetime.
